The passenger aircraft An-10 was developed by Antonov bureau in the early 1950s. The plane was based on the An-12 “Cub” transport military aircraft and was powered by four NK-4 turboprop engines. The An-10 prototype made its first flight in 1957 and received its own name "Ukraine". Its passenger cabin was decorated with views of Ukrainian cities: Kiev, Zaparozhye, Kharkov, Poltava, Kakhovka.
